Hey everyone,
Me and Bloodyhorse are busy working to sort out some behind-the-scenes stuff, so unfortunately we won't be able to post any new pages this week.

HOWEVER, that doesn't mean we're not updating!
Since we're not developing the story of Imperium, I've decided to give you all a little insight into the characters who star in it! So all this week I'll be posting a little about the main cast and who they are to me.

Let's start of with everyone's favorite cowardly engineer: Michael "Mikey" Rivet!

I'll be honest with you guys, I did NOT have a lot planned for Mikey when I started this series. All I really knew about him at the time was that I needed there to be a character who was younger than everyone else (Most of the main cast is in their late 20s or early 30s, while Mikey is only 19) and didn't know much about the Empire (So Tre could explain it to him).

So that's really all that Mikey was to me back then: a device for delivering exposition. He didn't really have a defined personality. Hell, in his first few appearances I hadn't even decided to give him an accent yet!

However, it didn't take long for Mikey's character to begin to develop. It happened almost organically. I knew he needed an excuse to not know anything about fighting or the Empire, so I made him a coward. It fit well with his "just a kid" role, and it was something we really hadn't seen yet in the comic.
Then, slowly but surely, the guy started to grow on me. Something about seeing someone so afraid of everything around him made me want to root for the little bastard.

With time, I've started devoting more and more effort into fleshing out his character's arcs and developments. Now we've reached a point where Mikey ranks among my favorite creations. There's lot of really cool stuff in his future, and I can't wait to share it with all of you!

Here we can see Mikey doing what he loves the most: Smoking and reading the adventure of BUCK COTTON: HERO OF TOMORROW in his mom's mechanic shop!
